Make a Home-Based Play Spot for Kids

without comments

Playing is a vital activity for kids. It nurtures their physical, mental, emotional, moral, and social development. These days, it is at once harder and less welcome an idea to take your kids out to a public park anytime they want to play. So what most parents prefer now is let their kids play at home and enjoy themselves better while learning from their games. Following are some tips for you to help facilitate your children’s playing at home.

Define the Boundaries: You need to instruct your kids where and when they can play. Be clear in your instructions and make it sound like you mean it, without being harsh.

Choose an Accessible Location: Choose an easily accessible play spot i.e. one that can be reached readily from the rest of the home. This ensures greater safety for the playing kids.

Select Furnishings for Quieter Games: To let your children play quieter games, you better select some inviting furnishings like a set of table and chair along with a table lamp for each kid. This can be used to let them play games including drawing, puzzles, and painting etc.

Carpet the Floor: Most kids love to play on a warm and comfortable carpet indoors, especially during the winter.

Participating in Play: Children gather greater courage and joy if you participate in their play. However, don’t dominate the play. Let your child lead. Also, parent’s participation is less welcome at the games of older kids; so don’t get on your child’s nerves.
