Food Ideas for the Baby Shower

As you may already know, a successful baby shower is going to start with all of the right food. A very important part of planning someone a baby shower that is going to be successful is serving only food that is convenient to eat and tasty. When it comes to the food that is served at the baby shower, you can either have all of the food catered, or you can order some deli trays from your local supermarket or, if you really enjoy cooking and you have the extra time, you can prepare all of the food yourself.

Below, you will find a list of several different food items that you can serve at the baby shower that are very easy to prepare and are easy to eat and tasty. However, there are some things that you need to figure out before you move on to the food. First, decide what type of baby shower you are interested in planning and exactly where it is going to be held.

In the event that it is a casual party that is going to be held at someone else’s home, then you can plan to serve food that is going to be easy to handle and not really all that messy. If all of the guests are going to have their plates in their laps, you aren’t going to want to serve any type of food that is messy. In the event there are going to be some tables set up for all of the guests to sit at, you can be a bit more adventurous with all of the food. 

  • Chips and Dip- Your selection may include tortilla chips accompanied by guacamole, salsa, sour cream, bean dip or a variety of different potato chips with ranch dip and onion dip.
  • Spinach Dip- Your selection maybe accompanied by crackers, raw vegetables, pita triangles or toast rounds.
  • Seafood Spinach Dip- add a half of cup of crab meat, if you don’t have any crab meat, the imitation seafood legs will work just as well, make sure that you shred them before you add them to the mixture. If you would like, you can use artichokes or spinach or you may want to omit both.
  • Spinach Artichoke Dip- add one fourteen ounce can of artichokes that have been drained and chopped to the spinach dip.
  • Hummus- Your selection can be accompanied by toast rounds, pita chips, carrot sticks and celery.

Now that you have a little knowledge of how your menu is supposed to look for the baby shower, you can make all of the final adjustments to the menu. Make sure that you know everything you plan to cook and what all you are going to need to prepare it.
